Optimal Implementation of Antimicrobial Stewardship in General Practice (OPTIMAS-GP) Study
OPTIMAS-GP invites you to participate in an implementation trial to improve the quality of antibiotic prescribing for acute respiratory infections in Australian general practice. The research is supported by a grant from the Australian Government Medical Research Futures Fund (ID: MRF2029531).
More information can be found by following the link to this one minute video OPTIMAS-GP Trial - UoW.
As a key informant in this area, we warmly encourage you to take part in this important research.
Participation requires:
1 hour of self-paced, online training for practice managers;
Oversee fortnightly audits of ARI cases for two 5-month periods for participating GPs;
Enrolling at a minimum: one practice staff member and two (maximum five) GPs in the trial;
Some staff will be asked to participation in 2x 60min online interviews, if the practice meets selection criteria (e.g., practice size, location and trial arm allocation). Participation is voluntary.
Participation in all study activities will be financially reimbursed and participation will count towards CPD for GPs.
If this is something your practice wishes to be involved in, we ask you to kindly circulate this email and attachments to your GPs and practice staff. To enrol in the study or to learn more, the attached participant information sheet and consent form (PISCF) provides more details about the study. Participation is voluntary. If you are interested in taking part, please complete a consent form.
