ADHD in Primary Care — April 2026 Event
Our first face-to-face event of 2026 brought together over fifty primary care professionals to explore ADHD diagnosis and management across the lifespan — and what Queensland's evolving GP prescribing landscape means in practice.Speakers covered adult psychiatry, paediatric care, lived experience, and GP perspectives, followed by lively panel discussion on shared care models, diagnostic rigour, upskilling, and system pressures.
ADHD care is shifting toward general practice, with a tiered shared-care model emerging as a sustainable solution. A key asset in this shift is the depth of GPs' existing patient relationships — and for those wanting to be involved, assessment can be spread across shorter sessions over time, fitting the rhythm of general practice rather than replicating the specialist model.
