Monitoring micronutrient status among people undergoing bariatric and metabolic surgery

PhD Candidate, Sherry Tang, presented the results from this study at the Dietitians Australia 2024 Conference in Brisbane. Link to conference abstract.

"Our study surveyed and interviewed dietitians to explore their practices and perspectives on managing micronutrient status in bariatric surgery. While the supplementation practice was broadly similar via multivitamins, repletion practice varied. These inconsistencies likely reflect different care models and multidisciplinary team involvement in different settings, and the absence of Australian nutrition guidelines specific to bariatric surgery."
